Ideas for Our Meeting Topics

I have an idea that everyone has to prepare a topic for the meeting every time, but the topic is easy, such as an important news this week, a theory in some certain field, an interesting story, or anything else. Everyone has to report his or her topic about 10 minutes, and others can ask questions or more information, so every topic may take 20 minutes.
The meeting time will change to 8:30 PM on Sundays, and it may take 1 hour or 1.5 hours.
I will recommend this idea because I think we can practice our speaking and learn something new at the same time, and I think this may not take you too much time. Just relax and find something interesting to share with us.
By the way, if necessary, you can post some articles or anything else for providing us the background of your topic.
