Joseph's integrated practice 02

At first the author indicates that the events are not all recorded by historians. Rather, history is being selected and just part of the events even happened before. Still, history is the interpretation of historians based on the selection. In the listening passage, the speaker provides one example to support that history can be differently interpreted according to the selection by the historians.

There is one example in the listening. The speaker says that one candidate is described and published with two different biographies. In one biography, the context is mostly about the candidate’s early life and some principals held in his early time. However, in another one, the biography talks about the candidate’s childhood happy time and some special events happened latter in his life. It mentions that he was taken care well and enjoyed at that time. Also, he had been the leader in the high school class and admired and enlightened by his friends and teachers. He achieved a lot during that time.

Finally, the speaker concludes that history can be a selection of the whole events and can be interpreted differently by someone as a response and support to the reading passage.
