Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Telephones and email have made communication between people less personal. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

I don’t agree that telephones and email have made communication between people less personal. In contrast, I believe that people communicate to each other more personal and active by telephones and email. Due to the information explosion era, life pace is getting faster and faster but leisure time is getting less and less. Telephones and email play very important roles in our daily life especially when we want to connect with family or friends.

Decades ago, we could hardly imagine to hearing of news from family or friends when we went studying or traveling far from home. At that time, the most popular method was sending the handwriting letters, but we could not know if the letters were received or not because of the unsafe expressing way. To assume that there is an emergency happened in my hometown, but I get the mails after weeks, then there comes a least two effects. First, I miss the time to go back and regret for long. Second, I arrive my hometown on time but my neighborhood scold me for coming so late. This inconvenient method causes communication between people less personal.

However, telephones and email were invented to improve the situation. People can connect with each other whenever they like. To be more specific, I can call my family and friends even though I’m abroad or express my feelings to them. I can send email to friends when It’s Christmas or even connect to worldwide people. Nowadays, we don’t have to worry about missing any important events when we’re far from. If my sister gets her first job, I can give her a phone call or email for congratulating when I’m not beside her, and then she’ll feel warm because I’m just on the right time.

To sum up, telephones and email have made people closer than before, and the communication between people also becomes more personal and active. They provide us the easiest and most convenient way to connect with our family and friends. That way we will not overlook those people we love no matter how busy we are. I believe that we get a lot of benefits by using telephones and email.
