Do you agree or disagree with following statement? Television, newspaper, magazines, and other media pay too much attention to the personal lives of famous people such as public figures and celebrities. Use specific reason and details to explain your opinion.
I strongly agree with the statement that the media pay too much attention to the personal lives of famous people. To think about why the media would be invented, we all know it’s because of information transportation, but today they turn into a tool for entertainment.
From my point of view, the media, such as television, newspaper and magazines should pay much more attention to expressing the new information in domestic or worldwide, that way people can learn more and understand the circumstance around them. I believe that absorbing the knowledge from our daily life helps us to grow. So the media play a very important role on educating the public. In contrast, if the media just keep on reporting the personal lives of famous people, how can people grasp the new information around them, around the world?
Maybe there are some people think that the media must have to provide us entertainment, because there is nothing huge worldwide. But I don’t think it’s a good way to excavate others’ personal lives for amusing the public. Today our media really pay too much attention to that, and it’s not hard for us to imagine that the headline on television, newspaper reporting about some celebrity’s marriage or certain politician was snapped when hugging a famous model but not his wife. Even the magazines would collect all the events and perform as a series of photos and analysis. Although these people really show the public a negative demonstration, the media sometimes bring the side effect to the main characters of the rumor or even the public. What’s worse, the public are getting used to the information which is delivered by the media, and then construct the habit for digging all the personal and rumor things. And it’s not the purpose why the media were invented.
To conclude all the above thoughts, the media indeed pay too much attention to the personal lives of famous people. On the other hand, this kinds of reports also make the public lose their right to absorb the information and knowledge around the world; instead, today’s media just force the public to receive the gossips no matter people love to or not. I think it’s a kind of rude, the media.
